There is something incredibly special about photographing a wedding who has a connection with one of our past couples. Back in October of 2023, we had the honor of photographing Yvonne and Andy’s wedding day, and this spring we found ourselves documenting another beautiful chapter in their family story. Yvonne’s daughter Savannah marrying the love of her life, Chase.
Savannah and Chase’s wedding day began bright and early on Saturday, April 25th, with a peaceful, relaxed morning that perfectly reflected the tone of the entire day.
Savannah spent the morning getting ready in a cozy home just down the road from the church, with her mom and sisters who were also her bridemaids! Throughout the entire day, Savannah wore the biggest smile. You could truly feel how excited and joyful she was to be marrying Chase.
One of the most emotional parts of the morning was Savannah’s first look with her father and brother. The moment with her brother was especially touching, as the two of them had not seen each other in years. There was no holding the emotions back as they embraced for the first time again before the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Chase got ready in a cabin tucked away on the opposite side of the property. Before the ceremony began, Savannah and Chase shared a private first touch, taking a quiet moment together while holding hands around the corner from one another. It gave them a chance to calm their nerves, exchange a few words, and simply be present together before walking down the aisle.
Their ceremony took place inside a small chapel just a little down the ways from Greenwood Baptist Church. The chapel itself felt timeless — small, charming, and full of antique character. It created such an intimate atmosphere for the couple to exchange their vows.
One of the sweetest moments of the day was watching Chase see Savannah walk down the aisle. He fought back tears as she approached him, and you could immediately feel just how emotional and meaningful the moment was for both of them.
Their officiant made the ceremony especially memorable by sharing personal stories about Savannah and Chase throughout the service. The guests laughed often, stayed completely engaged, and the ceremony felt deeply personal from beginning to end.
After the ceremony, everyone stepped outside the chapel where we captured portraits of the newly married couple with the vintage charm of the property. Those quiet moments immediately after the ceremony are always some of our favorites — the nerves are gone, the excitement settles in, and couples finally get a moment to simply be together.
The reception took place back inside the church foyer and gathering area, it was welcoming, intentional, and full of meaningful conversation. Guests mingled throughout the space enjoying an incredible charcuterie display that honestly deserved its own spotlight. It was one of the most impressive spreads we’ve seen and created such a warm atmosphere for everyone to celebrate together.
The couple also shared a beautiful private last dance together before their bubble exit. It was quiet, emotional, and such a meaningful way for them to pause together before the celebration officially came to an end.
Guests lined up outside the church blowing bubbles as Savannah and Chase made their way to a classic car waiting to take them into married life. And it was an amazing car to say the least!
Before ending the day, Philip and I met the newlyweds once more at a family friend’s home for a few additional portraits. The afternoon light, the peaceful setting, and the joy these two carried made for the perfect ending to such a heartfelt wedding day.
Savannah and Chase, thank you for allowing us to tell your story. Being invited back to photograph another milestone for your family meant more to us than we can fully express. Your wedding day was so joyful and incredibly sweet! A perfect reflection of the two of you!
