I walked into Mylinda Renay Salon Spa & Boutique at Lincoln Square in Arlington where the girls were getting their hair + make up done and you could hear the excitement in the air! Colleen was full of curls and was glowing already! The entire salon was taken over by this beautiful bride & bridesmaids. I chatted with Colleen for a few minutes to catch up on some last minute details. I love how my clients feel more like friends. She was incredibly sweet and knew that no matter what happened today, she was going to be married to her love. That just fills my heart!
After the girls looked AMAZING, we headed to the bride’s sisters home just 10 minutes from the salon and just minutes from the Church. After we shot a few details, it was already time to head to the Church to lace up her dress and walk down the aisle! The girls were upstairs and the room was filled with the bridal party, family, and friends to help the bride put on the finishing touches. It was very clear that this is such a close family and Colleen is very loved. The guys were downstairs and getting ready themselves. Both fathers came in to give Corey some last minute words of encouragement and before you knew it, you could hear the organ playing and it was time to start the ceremony.
This Catholic ceremony was in the beautiful St. Maria Goretti Church in Arlington, TX. The tall ceilings and stained glass windows were breathtaking. The organ that was in the balcony was nothing short of extraordinary. When Colleen began walking down the aisle, it was clear that Corey was about to be the happiest man ever. He met Colleen and her father at the end of the aisle, where her dad hugged him and his daughter before kissing her on the forehead and took his seat. The ceremony was beautiful and the priest was very engaging with the bride, groom, and their guests. At one point, he made everyone laugh when he sprinkled holy water on one of the groomsmen. The rings were exchanged and they shared their first kiss as man and wife. It was too sweet! Corey held his wife in his arms and they were now Mr. & Mrs. Robertson.
Colleen + Corey have such a sweet relationship. I loved capturing them with their friends and family but especially the portraits of just the two of them. It allowed them to have a few moments together without the crowd to really let it sink in that they are MARRIED! Yay! Now we were headed to the reception at the Stockyard Station in Fort Worth!
Before they were announced in, the guests were serenaded by a bagpiper. It filled the reception hall and was a joyful song! Have I ever told you that I love the sound of bagpipes?! Ireland is on my MUST visit list! When his song was completed, Colleen + Corey made their grand entrance and was surrounded with applause and cheers from their friends and family. This bride + groom are very blessed to have such a wonderful group of people who love and support them.
I am so honored that Colleen + Corey choose me to tell their wedding story! Enjoy some of my favorites from this Fort Worth Stockyard Texas Wedding!
