KENNA + THOR | Turtle Creek Park Engagement

It was so great to finally meet Kenna + Thor in person! The first time we spoke with each other was on a Zoom call and then, we had to reschedule our first scheduled engagement session (which was a bummer) but it all worked out! It was nice and sunny and a great location for these two! We love this beautiful location and the icing on the cake was that Thor’s brother lives within walking distance! Perfect for an outfit change! : )

One of my favorite things about an engagement session is getting to see how a couple interacts with each other. And man, these two are the sweetest! No prompting necessary for a stolen kiss!

HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
My parents met Kenna before I did. Kenna went to one of her friend’s parents’ house for a party out on Cedar Creek Lake. Those parents were good friends with my parents through the brewery that I worked at then. I wasn’t there that day but my mom gave Kenna my phone number, and after some light facebook stalking I got a text from her. After about a month of texting, she made an excuse to drive back out to the middle of nowhere so we could finally meet in person.

SHARE A PIECE OF YOUR PROPOSAL STORY
This February i had gotten her parents’ blessing, our parents got to meet each other for the first time, and Kenna had a birthday. She came to visit me in Austin (where I was working at the time) and we stayed at a nice hotel downtown. I had given her a gift earlier that day and had a cookie cake (her favorite) for her so she wasn’t expecting anything else. When we got to the room I told her I had one more gift for her and handed her a love letter. When she finished reading it I had the ring ready to go.

WHAT IS YOUR PERFECT DATE NIGHT?
We’ve gone to several breweries, wineries, concerts, and Tex Mex restaurants for dates and I think they’ve all been amazing. For a perfect date all I really need is Kenna. We love cooking together, listening to music, having some nice drinks, playing games or reading on the couch next to each other. That’s honestly a perfect night in my book.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR THE WEDDING DAY?
I’m most excited to officially start my forever together with Kenna. Also we’re going to have some really tasty mini pies for dessert that day.

TELL US SOMETHING INTERESTING OR UNIQUE ABOUT EACH OTHER.
It’s tough to pick one thing when everything about her is interesting. One of my favorite qualities is just how nice she is. She is the kindest person I know and always gives everyone help and happiness.

ANY ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES HAVING PICTURES TAKEN?
“Don’t take pictures outside in July in Texas.” (Haha! It is a bit hot!)
“Just be comfortable with your fiance, it really does come across in the pictures.”
