SARAH + MAX | Prather Park Dallas Engagement

Texas is so funny!  It has been so hot lately and no sign of rain anywhere!  The small chance of rain we had ended at 4 pm but then as Philip and I are walking out the door, it starts pouring!  Scattered showers were covering the metroplex!  But after talking it over with Sarah, we decided to meet them at Prather Park in Dallas and if it happened to start raining, we would have umbrellas and if it got crazy, we would reschedule.  I’m so so so glad we decided to show Texas we weren’t afraid of a little rain!  It ended up being a great afternoon!  There was even a breeze!  It just goes to show that you never know what Texas weather is going to bring.  : )

Sarah + Max are such a sweet, fun, adventurous couple!  They enjoy all things outdoors and wanted their session to reflect just that!  I think we nailed it!  Prather Park in Highland Park was made just for them!  It is such a perfect mix of outdoors and elegance!  Don’t you agree?

When Sarah and I first started talking about their engagement session, she mentioned that they may need help with not looking awkward.  I think that is so crazy cause they are not awkward at all!  Haha!  In fact, they were the opposite of awkward!  I love how natural and in love they both are!  It was such a fun time getting to know them both more.   As busy as they both are with starting their careers, it is so great to just relax and enjoy each other’s company.  I’m so excited for the two of them and can’t wait to see them again in April for their wedding day!  Here are a few of my favorites from their session last Tuesday!  I’d love to know which one is your favorite!  Also, learn more about their love story below!

HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

Max: He went out with his roommates and ended up playing pool at Capital Bar in Fort Worth.  Max noticed his friend talking to some classmates, so he went over to say hello.  Max asked Sarah to play pool with him against another team. They were doing great until she scratched on the eight ball at the very end, but he still asked for her number!

Sarah: She went dancing with some friends and they ended up at Capital Bar. Sarah noticed a classmate, so she went to say hello. Sarah also noticed her classmate had a very cute friend playing pool who came over to say hello.

Big shout-out to that classmate, Shawn Senter, who introduced us and is also going to be one of the groomsmen!

HOW DID HE PROPOSE?

The third-year anniversary of our first date I came back from the hospital I was working at. When I opened the door to my apartment I saw a beautiful display of candles, tulips, and a picture of us. Max took a knee, with a gorgeous ring in hand, and asked me to marry him!

WHAT ARE THE DETAILS YOU ARE MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR THE WEDDING?
The song Sarah is walking down the aisle to and our cocktail hour music

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS OR ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES TAKING ENGAGEMENT PICTURES?
Have fun! Once we started to relax and be ourselves we were just hanging out and exploring a beautiful park together. Pick a location or activity you enjoy as a couple and it’s just another fun date!
